My Great Big Kid story...

Shawn Henderson's Story
I am a native of South Bend and have had many wonderful mentors in my life.  It is only right to pay that back to the next young man or lady in our community.  I currently do not know where I would be if Pat Magley, Dr. Hansel Foley, Pastor John Wilson, Mr. Anthony Scott and Mr. George McCullough would not have been strong mentors in my life. Pay it Forward!  As long as I have breath in my body, I will support and be a positive mentor in the generations to come.  Please join me in the fundraising effort for this organization

"Shawn truly lives what he speaks! He has coached my son in basketball for the past 5 years. Shawn not only teaches these young men the game of basketball but how to excel in life. My son is fortunate to have the best coach and mentor around and I only hope that 15 years from now he will also pay it forward! Shawn is such an asset to the children in this community and I am proud to call him a friend. I couldn't think of a more deserving person for this award. Thank you Shawn for everything you do!"

"Shawn, you are by far the most amazing mentor I have ever known. You make a difference every single day in the lives of young people in our community. You are there when students need you the most and you never give up on them. You are a TRUE role model- you show young men (through your words and deeds) what it REALLY means to be a good father, devoted husband, dedicated teacher, and loyal friend. If the world had more people like you, imagine the number of lives we could change. You have touched countless lives, including mine. I am proud of you and consider it an honor to call you my little brother. "
