Introducing Team Purple
With more than five years of Club experience, Lety Verduzco is a seasoned employee of Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County. As a Branch Director, Lety oversees Club programming at both Harrison and Wilson Primary Centers. Now, Lety is taking her experience with the Club to the campaign trail as a 2014 Great Big Kid!
“I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact that Greatest Kids event makes,” says Lety. “I’m excited to be a part of it this year.”
Her Mentee
As a Great Big Kid, Lety will mentor 13-year-old, Yasmin – a Club Member she has known for more than five years.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to get to know Yasmin even more and to mentor her outside of the Club,” she says.
Connecting to the Community
Lety hopes to use her time with Yasmin to dive deeper into lessons she says Yasmin has learned over the years at the Club.
“As a Club Member, Yasmin has learned the importance of giving back to the community and being a productive, caring citizen. I’m looking forward to bringing those lessons to life throughout this experience.”
GBK Everyday
When asked why she decided to take on the challenging role of Great Big Kid, Lety’s response is clear:
“I get to be a Great Big Kid every day. I embrace any opportunity to support our Members and raise awareness of our mission.”
