TEAM GREEN
Gavin Ferlic
As young professional, Gavin Ferlic has already seen much success in his life. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, he played professional golf for the Canadian PGA tour and the NGA tour in the U.S. In 2010, he graduated from Indiana University with both a Masters of Business Administration and a JD after just three years of study, making him the 2nd person in the history of the school to do so. In 2011, he was elected to serve as a City Council member at-large for South Bend after receiving the highest number of votes out of all candidates. In addition to his council role, he currently works as the Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Burkhart Advertising. Despite these successes, Gavin believes his greatest achievement is his volunteer service in various community nonprofits – serving as a big brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Joseph County, and as a mentor with the South Bend Community School Corporation’s Mentor Program.
JaQwan Ulmer
As a “model student” -- talented in academics, athletics, and fine arts – JaQwan is a shining star at the Boys & Girls Club. He attends Marshall Intermediate where he is a member of the Honor Society, basketball team, and band. Like many successful Club kids before him, JaQwan is a rising basketball star. In an inter-club basketball game, JaQwan scored 42 points! Each day after school he gets help with homework – when he finishes early he helps fellow Club kids who are still working. He hopes to play professional basketball in the future but if that doesn’t work out, he will be well-equipped for a career in financial planning as he emerged as a leader in last fall’s “Junior Financial Literacy Program.”
